What I Learned at the SIG Conference: Building Stronger Communities with Networked

I recently had the chance to attend our customer, SIG Global Executive Summit in Nashville, and it was an inspiring experience. SIG is a top global association for sourcing, procurement, and third-party risk professionals, bringing together a diverse group of industry leaders who drive innovation and best practices.

From meaningful conversations with industry leaders to hands-on collaboration with SIG, the event reinforced just how powerful community can be in today’s professional world.

Oh, and the highlight? Watching SIG grow their Networked-powered community and seeing firsthand how a well-connected platform can drive real engagement and value.

Here are a few of my key takeaways and why I’m more excited than ever about the role of community in shaping the future of work.

Communities Are Essential for Growth

SIG’s community goes far beyond surface-level networking. It’s a dynamic space where professionals come together to exchange insights, tackle challenges collaboratively, and continuously learn from one another. SIG has cultivated a space where its members can access a deeper kind of growth, one that’s more meaningful and far more impactful than traditional networking opportunities.

How Networked Supports Stronger Communities

Watching SIG’s thriving community come together in person was a powerful reminder of why I’m so proud to be part of the work we’re doing at Networked. Our platform is designed with one goal in mind: to help creators and organizations foster genuine, lasting connections, whether that’s through meaningful discussions, shared resources, or direct peer-to-peer engagement.

Seeing SIG’s members actively embrace the platform has been incredibly rewarding. It’s proof that when communities are equipped with the right tools, engagement becomes more natural, collaboration becomes easier, and the potential for growth multiplies.

Networked doesn’t just provide a platform for people to connect; it’s designed to help build lasting relationships. Watching SIG use this space to create a thriving, purpose-driven community has been nothing short of inspiring.

Tornado in Nashville!

I had a feeling this year’s SIG Summit would be unforgettable…for more reasons than one.

In the wee hours of the morning on April 3rd, Nashville was hit with a Tornado Watch. From 2 a.m. onward, sirens echoed through downtown (and our phones), accompanied by Flash Flood warnings and non-stop iPhone alerts that became the day’s unofficial soundtrack. Safe to say, extreme weather wasn’t on the conference agenda.

But here’s the thing… being in the community world, you start to notice the human side of these moments. Despite the chaos and sleep deprivation, something amazing happened: people came together. Whether it was swapping stories over a much-needed espresso (shoutout to the sponsored coffee cart) or sharing a laugh to shake off the tension, the experience created an unexpected bond. We were lucky the storm passed without incident, and while we all came for professional development, we walked away with a reminder that connection, especially in uncertain moments, is what community is all about.

What’s Next for SIG and Networked?

Watching SIG’s community grow and seeing the positive impact it’s already having on its members has been such a rewarding experience. I’m excited to see even more professionals find opportunities to connect, collaborate, and thrive together. At Networked, we’re committed to helping organizations like SIG build more than just networks…we’re giving them the tools to create ecosystems of support, knowledge, and long-term relationships. The future is bright, and we’re proud to be part of the journey.
